Edison Central league -Umpires????
Watched a Edisom 10-12 boys game, they play pony rules, one teams pitcher NEVER paused during the stretch position, umpire was beyond ignorant to opposing coaches claiming the player paused"long enough for him", then next pitcher from the same team would turn his WHOLE body toward first from the stretch to check the runner, did this three TIMES before a coach said it was a BALK. at that time the umpire told the coach he would call the balks, so why did he not call one of the first three??????
Was this team just getting ripped? Did the umpire have relatives?? Was he typical Edison Umpire that DOES NOT KNOW THE RULES!!!
The other team's pitchers performed very well, pausing in the stretch completely, no turning from the stretch, this 7 inng game was over in 2 hrs!!!, only one hit on one team, 2 on the other, final score was 4-3, catcher dropped to many 3rd strke pitches allowing the team runs. What a TERRIBLE SHAME AN UMPIRE COST THIS TEAM TO LOSE!!!!!! The losing team would have scored at least three more runs had the CORRECT ILLEGAL PITCHES BEEN CALLED AND THE BALKS>

Back in my days of umpiring in the Edison District, I hit a pitcher with a balk (from Empire) and the coach (not mentioning names, but I am sure if you were familiar with Empire back then, you know who im talking about) jumped me and started accusing me of not knowing the rules and on and on. I showed both him and the coach between innings what I expected and the kid still kept doing it.

When I move down there I'm going to try to become a umpire.
